Join us for our 46th Annual Art Show June 5-8, 2008. CCNS will once again convert the 'little red schoolhouse in Rowayton' into a professional art gallery where over 70 new and returning artists will be represented. This year's featured artists are husband and wife David E. Gordon and Sue Brown Gordon.

Artists David E. Gordon and Sue Brown Gordon are a husband and wife team that work in a variety of artforms. Theirs is a marriage of talents and love for creating art.  They are based in Saratoga Springs, New York, Jupiter, Florida and now back in Sue's home state of Connecticut with a studio in Norwalk.

David is a master painter with a gift for color. His large painted works include such subject matter as vibrant blooming poppy fields and a large sensually rendered pear seated on a striking dark background. His latest mixed media works are of tall rows of trees, reminincent of a Tuscany landscape with a soft but graphic edge.

Sue is an award-winning, nationally exhibited artist and her sophisticated, contemporary paintings are recognizable all over Fairfield County and the East Coast for their distinctive, organic forms and reflective tranquility.   Childhood memories of Long Island Sound's salt marshes are incorporated in Sue Brown Gordon's work, capturing the essence of the sea.
CCNS is pleased to welcome them to our 46th Annual Art Show as our Featured Artists.

'An art show committee made up entirely of parent volunteers collects, hangs and entertains art patrons with this labor of love that begins each school year. Even if you are just browsing… it’s a weekend worth marking on your calendar.'

Community Cooperative Nursery School was founded in 1953, and remains one of the few true cooperative preschools in Connecticut.  The school was founded  by a group of parents who wanted to give their children a creative environment with professional guidance where they could know all racial, religious and economic groups. A strong commitment to a scholarship program through fundraising has been a tradition. Parent participation, though an economic necessity, remains the heart of the school, benefiting all involved.

Founded in 1953, Community Cooperative Nursery School has served children from ages 2 to 5 with a unique passion and vision combining creativity, play, the child and their family.  Centered on a cooperative spirit, the parents own and care for our school and in doing so embrace the qualities we strive to instill in our kids.  The school is licensed by the state of Connecticut.

We want our children to be active, lifelong learners, forever curious and with a never ending sense of wonder.  We provide a safe, nurturing, engaging environment with boundless activities, rich literature and endless attention.

We are CCNS – where children and parents play, work, and learn together.
